It's a little early to be doing a 2015 retrospective, but I just realized it's been almost a year since my last post, so I wanted to let everybody know I'm still here, just really busy. (32 weddings so far this year, 3 more still to go. Plus two Messiahs, a benefit concert, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, and a few others.) I'll do a full year-end wrap-up once the year is actually over and I'm sure nothing else will be added, but in the meantime, here are some of the more interesting places I've played (so far).
2015 is shaping up to be a busy one. It's only January 21st, and I've already got 15 weddings booked (plus 1 for 2016). Saturdays are going fast, so don't delay! Act now! Supplies, aren't necessarily running out, just filling up. (apologies to Smash Mouth)
I'm also excited to announce that I'll be running an additional ad in the bridal issue of HerLife Magazine. Here's a preview of what will go in the print and digital editions. (HUGE thanks to the HerLife design team for putting this together!) The snow has started to fall up here, but the snow tires are on my little car, so I guess that means I'm ready for another busy winter in the Adirondacks. Which is good, because December is going to be crazy, even by December standards. Here's my gig lineup, if you're curious.
On top of that is my usual teaching lineup, plus a few rehearsals and a big secret meeting which I will discuss at a later point, provided all goes well. I'm super excited to officially announce Cello Voce's 2014 Greater Adirondack Tour! We have 5 public concerts lined up over the next two months (as well as a handful of private functions) so we're looking forward to playing some great music for great audiences all over the park! Click on over to Cello Voce's official page for more info.
I just noticed that somehow my original 'Home' page disappeared and got replaced by my 'Weddings' page. This is a problem, because my Knot ad links directly to TAC/weddings.html, which no longer existed for some reason. This meant that if you clicked the link from my storefront, instead of getting a screenful of awesome wedding info, you got an ugly 404 Not Found error. I don't know how long it had been this way, and I apologize to all my Knot visitors who tried to stop by and thought I had a busted website. It is now fixed, and I'm in the process of rewriting the home page. It will be bigger and better than ever, of course. (well, different, at least)
Once again I have fallen way behind on my blogging. Here's another gallery overview with musical highlights of the past month and a half. Not pictured - the ~two dozen opera services I played, several weddings, another recording gig, the solo concert I gave in a restored one-room schoolhouse, and the two weeks I taught at a music camp. ps, watch this space for exciting news about a duo concert tour I'm giving in November/December with my friend Holly! Details are still being finalized, but should be finished soon!
I am fortunate enough to be playing for the MostArts Festival in Alfred, NY beginning next week. It should be a lot of fun! Anybody in western NY should come by, see a concert or two or 6 and say hi! http://mostarts.alfred.edu/
In a break from my usual scene, I'll also be teaching at the Cshey summer music camp in Houghton, NY for two weeks. Somewhere in there I also have to learn two operas for August's Hubbard Hall Opera Theater performances, so maybe it's not so unusual after all. So much for having a relaxing summer.... Sorry Jolene! Not pictured, my first wedding with a pianist (6/21/14 Diamond Point, NY), Keene Valley Central School's graduation (6/28/14), a memorial service (6/8/14), and my Plattsburgh studio recital. It's been a busy month!
